The Department of Public Works is involved in the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects within the unincorporated areas of San Mateo County. Our mission is to provide the public with safe, accessible roads and structures that make their communities more livable.
The County is collaborating with Redwood City, Menlo Park, Atherton, Woodside, California Coastal Conservancy, Cargill, and other stakeholders to identify flood management solutions for neighborhoods adjacent to Bayfront Canal and Atherton Channel
The existing 2,300 feet of perimeter fencing on the south-end of the Half Moon Bay Airport is in poor condition. Airports must be fenced in order to meet Federal Aviation Administration requirements. The perimeter fence will be replaced using material that is resistant to corrosion.
County crews are repairing various sites which incurred storm damage over the 2016/17 winter season. The damage sites for which preliminary repair strategies have been developed include Gazos Creek Road, Old La Honda Road, Alpine Road, Mirada Road, Entrada Way, Portola Road and Capistrano Road
The Project consists of constructing a new municipal groundwater well and a 140,000 gallon storage tank for the CSA 11 Water System, which serves approximately 100 households within the unincorporated community of Pescadero
