Belmont Creek Watershed Management Plan

Project Date

Ongoing

Location

Belmont Creek between Old County Road at Harbor Boulevard and Industrial Road at Quarry Road.

About the Project

The County is working with the Cities of Belmont and San Carlos on a regional solution for flooding along Belmont Creek.

Flooding occurs between Old County Road and Industrial Road and continually impacts the City of Belmont, the City of San Carlos, unincorporated areas of the County, and the Caltrain tracks. The creek has been studied and analyzed for capacity deficits, erosion, and bank stability.

The Belmont Creek Watershed Management Plan will build upon prior assessments to create a multi-benefit, comprehensive plan that encompasses flood risk reduction measures, green infrastructure, and water quality improvements. The Watershed Management Plan is in progress and the County and its project partners will continue to update the website with more information as it becomes available.
